November election a success for CLCV, the environment

Obama wins; environment picks up seats in California legislature

Prop 1A funds high-speed rail; Props 7 & 10 lose

On November 4, Californians (and voters across the country) voted for the environment. Here in California, we increased our environmental majority in the state legislature by picking up a number of seats, passed Proposition 1A to fund high-speed rail, and defeated misleading Propositions 7 and 10. And nationwide, President-elect Barack Obama promises to usher the nation into a new era of environmental protection.
